Job Overview

You are a young, motivated person with a good degree from a University, vocational college, or with good technical work experience in the absence of a proper qualification.

This position is based at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt. It is a permanent full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring and executing spacecraft operations, ground segment activities, data processing, and data distribution & archiving
• Continuous monitoring of system performance, data flows, and spacecraft health
•  Preparing and executing operational procedures and validating results
•  Providing first-level anomaly response and reporting
• Supporting real-time spacecraft operations within a 24/7 shift rotation 

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• A university degree in a STEM discipline (aerospace, electronics, physics, computing, programming, process control, ground station operations) is preferred
• Srong technical oriented background
• Good communication skills, fluency in English, both in speaking and writing
• Ability to work autonomously according to high-level guidelines and to work in international teams
• A good working knowledge of MS Office Tools
• Collaborative and team worker
• Solution oriented
• Capable of working under stress.

Desirable Skills

• A working knowledge of Linux
• Python, Visual Basic, and Database knowledge
• Some experience of shift work would be an advantage, but is not essential
