Sentinel – 2 Spacecraft Operations Engineer (f/m/d)
Job Overview
Telespazio Germany is looking to recruit for their current Earth Observation Mission Operations team with additional engineering support, delivering services to ESA/ESOC for the Sentinel-2 Mission. This position is based in Darmstadt. It is full-time and permanent, and the expected starting date will be around 01.03.2026
Key Responsibilities
- Routine operation of a 3 satellites constellation
- General flight control support service.
- Spacecraft performance analysis.
- Platform system operations engineering support.
- Payload (including payload management) system operations engineering support.
- Participation in the analysis and design of satellite operations.
- Preparation of flight control and contingency procedures.
- Participation in all mission-critical operations.
- Participation in system validation tests.
- Participation in ground segment validation tests.
- Support for mission control system evolution and testing.
- Support for mission planning system evolution and testing
- Support for spacecraft simulator’s evolution and testing
- Study of project-specific characteristics and ground-segment documentation.
- Mission management and mission planning support service.
- Participation in the team training program.
- Participation in Copernicus program’s launches and LEOPs
Essential Skills and Qualifications

Spacecraft payload or platform subsystem knowledge (DHS/OBSM/AOCS/Power/Thermal).

Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations.

Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Coordination with other service providers in operations (team player).

Familiarity with operational simulators, especially those based on SimSat.

Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS-2000.

Programming knowledge (Python, Bash).

Ability to work independently.

Generation of flight procedures and validation.
-
Satellite verification test planning and execution.
Desirable Skills
-
Familiarity with the ESOC environment.

Familiarity with Earth Observation satellite operations.
-
Familiarity with the Copernicus program.
-
Some experience dealing with external interfaces (e.g., Project, Industry, PDGS, etc.).

Familiarity with MOIS.
-
LEOP experience.
-
SVT experience.
