We seek to strengthen our Galileo Service Team with a Ground Segment Engineer delivering services to our customer based in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich with a talented and ambitious team member. Key Responsibilities 

• Support to AIV campaigns for the Galileo Ground Control Segment;
• Definition of test documentation (including maintenance of the documentation);
• Support to the preparation and execution of the Non-Regression / System Validation Test Campaigns;
• Support OPS/L1 and L3 teams for problem management, system restoration, vulnerability management, and handling of security incidents;
• Provide inputs to Service Asset and Configuration Management activities, including maintaining the configuration via the provided tools;
• Support all milestone reviews related to the L2/L3 maintenance handover;
• Support the design of end-to-end integrated maintenance and troubleshooting environments for Galileo systems;
• Provision of inputs to the release strategy for minor and major evolutions of the GCS infrastructure.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Information Technology or Aerospace related stream (or relevant work experience);
• System administration in LINUX environments, best in an aerospace domain;
• OPS system monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting;
• Understanding of virtualization and networking technologies;
• Experience in system integration and AIV campaigns;
• Fluency in English both spoken and written.

Essential

• LINUX, Networking, and Programming skills;
• MS Office;
• Fast learner and ability to work with little or no supervision;
• Good communication skills and team player;
• Ability to prioritize different and parallel activities;
• Capability of following and implementing standard procedures;
• Problem Solving aptitude.

Desirable

• Work experience in the frame of the Ground Segment of the Galileo project.

1. Due to the project requirements, only candidates with a nationality of any Member State of the European Union or Norway need apply. This is a must and non-negotiable.
2. This position will require a security clearance (from BMWK) following the stipulation of the project.
