Who You Are

Telespazio Germany is seeking an experienced Spacecraft Operations Engineer to join our Service Team, in supporting the OPS-SAT missions, OPS-SAT-1 (3U) currently flying and OPS-SAT-2 (16U) due for launch in 2025.

The areas of responsibility for this service encompass from Operations Supervision and Mission Planning, to assuming the responsibility and performing activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, including testing, validation and operation of the Mission Control System and Mission Planning System.

What You Will Focus on 

This request for service is for OPS-SAT/OPS-SAT-2 Operations and Operations Preparation.

The primary areas of responsibility for this service are the creation, documenting, testing and validation of the OPS-SAT2 Experiment infrastructure.

The general activities to be supported by this service are:

  • Study of the OPS-SAT specific on-board system on module (SOM) including all hardware and software interfaces with special attention to the Cyclone V FPGA
  • Managing the infrastructure required to support OPS-SAT Experimenters using the SOM effectively, with special attention on how to integrate experiments into the Cyclone V FPGA.
  • Production of the technical documentation and procedures
  • Production of the training documentation
  • Maintenance of the necessary on-board infrastructure in terms of software and VI-IDL code to be used as a standard template for OPS-SAT experimenters
  • Production of the necessary ground infrastructure to test and validate experiments on the ground before loading to the spacecraft
  • Participation in the System Validation Test Programme
  • Participation in the in-flight commissioning operations
  • General Support in Experimenter co-ordination and technical support
  • General Flight Control Support Service

What You Bring

  • University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.


  • Experience in programming FPGAs
  • Experience in embedded programming
  • Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations
  • Fluency in English, both speech and writing
  • Coordination with other service providers in operations (team player)
  • Ability to work independently.


  • Experience with the operation of Cube Sats
  • Programming skills in Java, Python & Linux scripting
  • Team Management experience


  • CV in Europass format
