Who You Are

You will be leading a multi-national service team and providing expert support to our customer in activities related to the transition of operational satellite missions to the next generation ESA ground segment infrastructure such as EGOS-CC and OPEN. In this role you will collaborate closely directly with both the client's technical managers and end users.

What You Will Focus on 

As Technical Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the technical activities of your service team. Based on your expertise you will assist your team and take integral part in the technical service activities. You are the interface to our customer for all technical matters of the service.

This full-time and unlimited position is based at our Headquarters in Darmstadt with expected  assignments to client sites in the local vicinity. 

What You Bring

  • Leading a technical service team
  • Being responsible for the distribution and coordination of service tasks
  • Ensuring the provision of high-quality and in-time delivery of service deliverables by the service team
  • Coordinating with customer technical manager for the alignment of priorities
  • Reporting on the technical progress of service tasks in collaboration with overall Service Manager
  • Disseminating knowledge and learn with others; praising openly successes of your colleagues and get praised for your successes.
  • Sharing competences and being involved in training of junior colleagues
  • Assisting & motivating team members

Essentially

  • Knowledge of next generation ESA ground segment infrastructure systems such as EGS-CC, EGOS-CC, MCS-CC, EGOS-MG, OPEN or related systems
  • Experience in 
    • developing, integrating, validating software or in 
    • software user support activities or in
    • data system management support activities 
    • in the space domain, in particular in the ground segment
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and transfer this knowledge into data-models and processes
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain good working relationships with teams and customer
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

Desirable

  • Ability to create software design documentation
  • Experience with Linux and Bash scripting
  • Experience with test tools for Spacecraft Monitoring & Control System, e.g. Satellite Simulators.
  • University degree in software engineering or similar
