Your Role:
We are seeking a talented and ambitious Systems Engineer - Storage and Backup to join our service team at our customer premises in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich. As part of the System Engineering Team, you will ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of various systems, including the Storage Area Network, Fibre Channel Network, Backup solutions, and Tape Library handling. You will be responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, administering and integrating servers, and installing and testing software and hardware updates provided by suppliers. As part of the System Engineering Team, you will also support mission preparation activities such as testing and validation, participate in internal and multi-lateral coordination meetings, and provide on-site and on-call support during essential phases and public relations events.
Who you are:
- Engineering degree in technical disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (or relevant professional training)
- In-depth and years of experience in Network and/or Linux administration
- In-depth and years of experience in Storage and/or advanced Linux Backup systems
- Profound knowledge of different network technologies (networking, switching, routing, VLAN, WLAN, SAN, NAC, VPN etc.)
- Fluency in English both spoken and written
