Who You Are

We are looking for a Mission Analyst (Copernicus Operations). This position is based partly at our customer site at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt. It is a permanent full-time position.

What You Will Focus on

  • Undertaking the tasks of required of the 24/7 On-call Analyst service  as required – (rota)
  • Support mission preparation activities
  • Supporting operational Spacecraft and Ground Segment database maintenance
  • Operating as the Controller if required
  • Attending and supporting S6 operations meetings as required, including the Daily Operations Meetings
  • Provide as required, training, continuation or proficiency training for Controllers
  • Preparation and presentation of training packages in support of the missions
  • Monitor the End to End production, Timeliness Processing & Dissemination via monthly/quarterly KPIs.
  • Validate and compile data for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the EUMETSAT S6 Centre to be used in the generation of monthly/quarterly reports
  • Coordinate the assessment and review of the monthly KPIs;
  • Monitor Production/Dissemination performance and Conduct 1st level investigations into anomalies. Report through the established channels.
  • Monitor and co-ordinate MME interface issues
  • Supervise and co-ordinate Controller activities with respect to mission monitoring activities
  • Support the development of the SMART monitoring implementation for the S6 environment including participation in S6 SMART development meetings;
  • Identify and co-ordinate and supervise team training activities
  • Analysis of system activities, events and anomalies with a view to improve training, procedures or the system
  • Creating, reviewing, updating and issuing operational documentation as required.
  • Provide input for weekly operations email as required


What You Bring

  • Degree in Science discipline

Essentially

  • Previous experience as a Spacecraft controller or certification in Copernicus missions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good English skills both oral and written.

Desirably

  • S6 EUMETSAT Controller Certification will be an asset
  • Some programming experience would be an advantage for the role (Python, Linux, Visual Basic)
